
Þröstur Helgason
Þröstur Helgason is an experienced figure in Icelandic media and culture, having started his career at Ríkisútvarpið before becoming a journalist at Morgunblaðið and later the editor of its literary magazine, Lesbók. He took a break from journalism to write a doctoral dissertation but returned as the program director of Rás 1 for nine years. Currently, he runs the publishing company Kind, showcasing his deep involvement in cultural affairs. In a recent interview, he expressed concerns about the diminishing focus on cultural coverage in media, arguing that outlets without such coverage risk becoming one-dimensional and akin to propaganda tools.
