Đinh Bằng Phi

Nghệ sĩ Nhân dân Đinh Bằng Phi, a prominent figure in traditional Vietnamese opera known as hát bội, passed away at the age of 88 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's disease. Renowned for his extensive knowledge and passion for the art form, he contributed significantly to the preservation and promotion of hát bội, inspiring generations of artists and students. His dedication to the craft was evident through his teaching at the National School of Music and Drama in Saigon and his role in founding the Đinh Bằng Phi hát bội troupe, where he showcased numerous historical performances. Despite health challenges in his later years, he remained an advocate for the evolution and accessibility of traditional arts to younger audiences.
