Aðalbjörg Runólfsdóttir

Aðalbjörg Runólfsdóttir is a passionate knitter from Selfoss, Iceland, who has been actively sending knitted wool socks and clothing to support Ukrainian soldiers since the onset of the war in Ukraine. Her efforts began with a small shipment to her friend Sindri Björnsson, who lives near Kyiv, and have grown significantly, resulting in numerous boxes of warm clothing being sent to those in need. Despite being a 70% disabled individual, she has mobilized her community and received widespread support to continue her humanitarian work, which brings her immense joy.
