Abdel Salem

Abdel Salem is a prominent figure in the fencing community, celebrated for his achievements as an athlete and a coach. He represented Egypt in individual and team épée events at the 1984 Summer Olympics and later became the head fencing coach at the U.S. Air Force Academy. In 1996, he was honored as the U.S. Olympic Committee Coach of the Year, reflecting his influence and success in shaping fencers at a national level. Recently, Salem has joined a legal action against fellow USA Fencing board members, alleging misconduct and misrepresentation related to the organization's handling of transgender athlete policies.
