Abdelghani Gnewa

Abdelghani Gnewa, also known as al Kikli, was a prominent Libyan militia commander and the head of the Rada militia in Tripoli, recognized for his significant control over key regions and assets such as the airport and seaport. His influence and power were pivotal in the post-Gaddafi era, but he became a target due to the shifting dynamics in Libyan politics, particularly as the government of Abdulhamid Dbeibah sought to reduce the influence of militias. Gnewa's assassination in mid-2025 marked a critical turning point, leading to heightened tensions and conflict within Tripoli as rival factions vied for control.
