Abderramán III

Abderramán III was the Umayyad caliph of Córdoba who reigned from 912 to 961. He is known for establishing a period of great cultural, political, and economic prosperity in Al-Andalus, transforming Córdoba into one of the most advanced cities in the world during the Middle Ages. His reign marked the peak of the Umayyad dynasty in Spain, where he oversaw the construction of impressive architectural works, including the Great Mosque of Córdoba.
