Abigail Lyle is an Olympic dressage rider and horse trainer originally from Bangor, Co Down. She gained national attention for her harrowing experiences in an abusive relationship with Jonathan Creswell, which lasted from 2008 to 2009. Lyle has since successfully transitioned into her career, representing Ireland in dressage at the Paris Olympics, and has become a vocal advocate against domestic violence. Following the tragic murder of showjumper Katie Simpson by Creswell in 2020, Lyle has participated in a documentary exploring the complexities of domestic violence and the failures of the justice system.
