Abolins
Āboliņš is a prominent figure in Latvian emergency management, having served as the chief of the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) for 12 years. He was recently in the news for his decision to step down from the role of head of the newly established Crisis Management Center (KVC), citing personal reasons. Despite his departure from this position, he expressed his intention to embrace new challenges. His extensive experience began as a firefighter and culminated in leading one of the largest state administrative bodies in Latvia. The KVC, which aims to coordinate civil crisis management, is still awaiting parliamentary approval for the relevant legislation to commence its operations fully.
