Abraham Isaac Quintanilla Jr. was a prominent American music producer and the father of the legendary Tejano singer Selena. Born in 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas, he began his musical career as a member of the vocal group 'Los Dinos' in 1956. After recognizing his daughter Selena's extraordinary talent, he created the band 'Selena y Los Dinos,' which played a pivotal role in launching her successful career in Latin music. Under his guidance, the group became a significant force in the Tejano music scene during the late 1980s. Following Selena's tragic murder in 1995, Quintanilla became an advocate for her legacy, producing a biographical film about her life. In 2021, he published his memoir, 'A Father’s Dream: My Family’s Journey in Music,' detailing his experiences in the music industry and his family's journey.
