Abu Karar

Abu Karar is a long-time resident of the Housing Complex in Al-Samawah, having lived there since the 1980s. He reflects on the transformation of the complex from a dream for the middle class into a nightmare of neglect and insecurity. Frustrated by unfulfilled promises from authorities, Abu Karar embodies the collective despair of the residents who face daily threats to their safety and quality of life.
