
Abubacarr Tambadou
Abubacarr Tambadou is a prominent Gambian lawyer and diplomat with over two decades of experience in international law. He served as the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of The Gambia from 2017 to 2020, where he was instrumental in legal reforms and enhancing the rule of law in the country. Currently, he holds the position of Registrar of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) at the level of Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations. Tambadou has made history by being the first-ever candidate from The Gambia to be nominated for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) since its establishment in 1945, marking a significant milestone for his nation in the international legal arena.
