Acaí

Acaí was a female jaguar reintroduced into the El Impenetrable region of Argentina on October 5, 2023, as part of a conservation project aimed at supplementing the species. Tragically, she disappeared shortly after her release, with her monitoring collar found damaged and submerged in the Bermejo River, raising suspicions of poaching. Acaí's disappearance has sparked significant concern and investigation from local authorities, emphasizing her status as a national natural monument and symbol of the Chaco region's wildlife.
