Achille Bazaine

Achille Bazaine was a French army officer and general who played a prominent role during the Franco-Prussian War. He commanded the French forces at the Battle of Sedan, where he faced defeat and was subsequently besieged at Metz, which contributed to the fall of the Second French Empire.
