Ada Janet Ross
Ada Janet Ross was a Canadian nurse who served with distinction during World War I, working at the Canadian General Hospital in Etaples, France, and later at the Northwood Hospital in Buxton, England, where she ultimately succumbed to tuberculosis in 1918. Her contributions to the war effort were commemorated with a city-wide procession upon her death, and she is buried in Buxton Cemetery alongside Canadian soldiers.
