Ada Škerl

Ada Škerl (1924 - 2009) was a pioneering Slovenian poet known for her significant contributions to the intimate poetry movement in Slovenia. Her debut collection, 'Senca v srcu' (Shadow in the Heart), published in 1949, challenged the dominant literary norms of her time with its emotional depth and personal themes, prompting criticism from the regime. Despite facing historical marginalization, her work is increasingly recognized for its importance in Slovenian literature.
