Adélard Godbout

Adélard Godbout was a prominent Quebec politician and member of the Liberal Party, serving as the Premier of Quebec from 1936 to 1939 and again from 1944 to 1948. He is known for his progressive reforms, including the establishment of Hydro-Québec and the introduction of social welfare programs. Godbout's government also made significant changes to the provincial coat of arms in 1939, adding the Tudor crown and the motto 'Je me souviens' to symbolize Quebec's connection to its history.
