Adrian Covaciu
Adrian Covaciu was an engineer known for his involvement in the construction of monumental industrial structures in Romania during the communist era. He is particularly noted for his role in the rapid construction of a 200-meter-high smokestack for a copper plant in Zlatna in 1986, which was completed in a record time of just 67 days. This smokestack became a symbol of industrial development in the Apuseni Mountains, although its utility was later called into question as the surrounding industries faced decline and eventual closure.
