Adriana Martínez Dorigama

Adriana Martínez Dorigama is an Emberá indigenous woman from the Dobida community, recently in the news for filing a lawsuit against the Colombian government over the unauthorized use of her image on the 10,000 pesos bill commemorating the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America. She claims that the use of her photograph, taken when she was a child in 1987, has caused moral harm and has led to perceptions of cultural commodification among her people.
