Afia

Afia is a baby western lowland gorilla who was born at Bristol Zoo and became the subject of a unique hand-rearing experiment led by zookeeper Alan Toyne after her mother was unable to care for her. Her experience with Toyne allowed her to develop crucial social behaviors before being introduced back into a gorilla troop.
