
Ágh István
Ágh István was a celebrated Hungarian poet, writer, and translator, born on March 24, 1938, in Felsőiszkáz. Originally named István Nagy, he adopted the pen name Ágh in 1958, officially changing it in 1968. A prominent figure in Hungarian literature, he was a founding member of the Digital Literary Academy and contributed significantly to various literary forms, including poetry, prose, and children's literature. His first poetry collection, 'Szabad-e énekelni,' was published in 1965, and he published over twenty more works throughout his career, earning numerous awards such as the Kossuth Prize and the József Attila Prize. He was recognized as a National Artist of Hungary in 2014 and became a distinguished citizen of Újbuda in 2019. Ágh passed away at the age of 87, leaving behind a rich literary legacy.
