Ahmad bin Majid was a renowned 15th-century Emirati navigator, cartographer, and poet, often referred to as the 'Lion of the Sea.' His extensive knowledge of the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, along with his contributions to navigation, made him a pivotal figure in maritime history. He is celebrated for his work in marine navigation, including the famous book 'Kitab al-Fawa'id fi Usul al-Bahr wa al-Qawa'id,' which has influenced seafaring practices.
