Ahmad Šara, also known by his nom de guerre Abu Muhammad al-Julani, is the leader of the Islamist rebel group that became the temporary head of state following the ousting of Bašár Asad in December 2024, as reported by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi.
