Ahmed Abdallah Sambi

Ahmed Abdallah Sambi, aged 67, served as the President of Comoros from 2006 to 2011 and has been under house arrest since 2015. He was sentenced to life in prison in 2022 for high treason related to a controversial passport sale case. Recently, six former prime ministers urged the current president to allow Sambi to seek medical treatment abroad due to concerns over his deteriorating health.
