Ahmed Haroun

Ahmed Haroun is a former Sudanese Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and a prominent political figure accused of committing crimes against humanity and war crimes during the Darfur conflict. He has been wanted by the International Criminal Court since 2007 for his involvement in recruiting militias responsible for ethnic cleansing in the region. Haroun escaped from prison in 2023 and has since been seen supporting the Sudanese army amid the ongoing conflict, which has resulted in severe humanitarian crises and widespread violence.
