Aibek Kauanov is the nephew of the late Dr. Abay Aisagaliev, a nephrologist who was brutally murdered. Following the sentencing of the convicted murderer, Kauanov expressed his feelings regarding the justice served, stating that while he wished for a longer sentence, he believed the 20-year punishment was sufficient given the impact of the crime on their family.
