Aizsilniece

Aizsilniece, born in 1966, was a respected family doctor and homeopath who played a significant role in shaping the medical profession in Latvia. She served as the president of the Latvian Medical Association since 2018, previously holding the position of vice president. Aizsilniece was actively involved in various projects with the World Health Organization and had a strong educational background, having studied public health in Sweden, Switzerland, and earned a master's degree in health care from the University of London. She also served as an advisor to the Minister of Health and was the chairperson of the State Agency of Medicines Council. Aizsilniece was known for her contributions to environmental activism and public health initiatives in Latvia. Her recent passing prompted condolences from the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, highlighting her impact on the healthcare system and professional community.
