Akira Takeguchi is a Japanese musician renowned for his exceptional talent in playing the dombyra, a traditional Kazakh string instrument. His journey began in Istanbul, where he first encountered the dombyra, leading him to take lessons and develop a deep passion for Kazakh music. Currently based in Almaty, he has mastered over 20 traditional Kazakh kyuys, including 'Aday' and 'Saryarka'. Takeguchi has garnered attention for his performances in Japan, where there is a growing interest in Kazakh music. He recently had the opportunity to meet his idol, the famous kyuishi Sekен Turysbekov, and performed alongside him, further solidifying his commitment to embracing and promoting Kazakh musical heritage.
