Akua Denteh

Akua Denteh was a 90-year-old woman who was tragically lynched on July 23, 2020, in Kafaba, Ghana, after being accused of witchcraft by a traditional priestess. Her brutal death sparked national outrage and became a catalyst for the introduction of the Anti-Witchcraft Accusation Bill aimed at protecting vulnerable individuals from similar accusations.
