
Alaa al-Dali
Alaa al-Dali is a Palestinian para-cyclist and humanitarian known for his resilience and determination to represent his people on the international stage. An amputee, al-Dali lost his leg after being shot during the Great March of Return protests in 2018. Despite this life-altering injury, he pursued his passion for cycling and became the first Palestinian to finish in the top 20 at the Para-Cycling World Cup. He is currently training for the Para-Cycling World Championships while grappling with the dire situation of his family trapped in Gaza amid ongoing conflict and starvation. Al-Dali also founded the Gaza Sunbirds, a para-cycling team that provides aid and support to those in need, embodying hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
