Alain Orsoni
Alain Orsoni was a prominent Corsican nationalist leader, known for his role as a chief of the Front de libération nationale corse (FLNC) in the 1980s and later as the founder of the Mouvement pour l'autodétermination (MPA). He served as president of the AC Ajaccio football club and was recognized for his political acumen. After leaving Corsica in 1996 during internal conflicts within the nationalist movement, he spent years in exile in places like Florida and Nicaragua, returning periodically to Corsica. Orsoni made headlines when he was tragically shot and killed during his mother's funeral in January 2023, highlighting the ongoing violence and rivalries within Corsican organized crime.
