Alain Semmel

Alain Semmel is a retired architect known for designing the orca habitat at Marineland in Antibes, France, which he completed in the late 1990s. His work was a significant technical achievement at the time, featuring innovative solutions for creating a large aquatic environment that allowed for close public viewing of the orcas. Semmel, who was also a city councilor in Biot during the project's inception, expressed regret over the potential demolition of the structure and has actively sought to understand its future since the park's closure in early 2023.
