Alan Frenkel

Alan Frenkel was an experienced American pilot, renowned for his adventurous spirit in ballooning, having participated in the prestigious Gordon Bennett Cup multiple times. A professional cargo pilot for a transatlantic airline, he combined his career with a passion for ballooning, flying over various countries, including Australia and Japan. Tragically, he was in the news after he and his co-pilot were killed when their hot air balloon was mistakenly shot down by Belarusian military forces during the 1995 race.
