Alber Ruizens

Alber Ruizens was the general secretary of the Belgian Football Association during the tragic Heysel Stadium disaster in May 1985, where 39 people lost their lives due to violent clashes between fans. Following the tragedy, he faced legal repercussions for negligence and was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended, for his role in the insufficient safety measures that contributed to the disaster.
