Albert Heim

Albert Heim was a Swiss mountaineer and geologist known for his studies on near-death experiences, particularly among climbers who encountered life-threatening situations. In 1892, he systematically collected accounts from thirty fellow climbers who had nearly fatal accidents, documenting their vivid experiences during moments of peril, including sensations of life flashing before their eyes and feelings of transcendent beauty. His work contributed to the early understanding of the psychological aspects of near-death experiences and sparked further research in the field.
