Albert Lejeune was a French journalist and the founder of the Paris-Nice cycling race, which first took place in 1933. His initiative aimed to promote his newspapers, Le Petit Journal and Le Petit Nice, and has since evolved into one of the most important stage races in professional cycling, often referred to as 'The Race to the Sun.'
