Prince Albert Victor, known as 'Eddy,' was the second son of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom. His engagement to Princess May of Teck was short-lived as he died of typhoid fever shortly thereafter, leading to his brother George's marriage to May, who eventually became Queen Mary.
