Alberto Scotti

Alberto Scotti was a prominent Italian civil engineer, renowned for his leadership of the MOSE project, a system of mobile barriers designed to protect Venice from high tides and flooding. He led the design team from 1987 to 2009, dedicating over three decades to the project, which he regarded as his 'children.' Scotti's expertise and passionate commitment to engineering not only shaped the MOSE but also left a significant mark on civil and environmental engineering in Italy. He continued to contribute to the project even after his formal role ended, overseeing critical testing and adjustments until his passing in 2025.
