Aldona Dausaite

Aldona Dausaite was a notable Lithuanian emigrant and a significant figure in the Canadian Lithuanian community. Born in Riga, Latvia, she fled to Germany during World War II and later emigrated to Canada, where she became a pharmacist and a dedicated advocate for Lithuanian culture. Dausaite was recognized for her literary contributions and her commitment to preserving Lithuanian heritage abroad. Upon her passing in 2012, she established a literary prize to support Lithuanian literature, reflecting her deep appreciation for the arts and her desire to promote cultural continuity among the Lithuanian diaspora.
