Alecos Flabouraris
Alecos Flabouraris was a prominent Greek politician and a significant member of the left-wing political landscape in Greece. Born in 1938 in Athens, he was involved in anti-dictatorial movements during the Greek military junta and was a founding member of the Coalition of the Left and Progress (SYN). Flabouraris served as a close aide to former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras during the SYRIZA government, where he held the position of Minister of State coordinating government work. He was elected to the Hellenic Parliament in 2015 and 2019, and despite his declining health, he remained active in the political arena until his passing in 2023 at the age of 87.
