Alejandra Gutiérrez Vargas

Alejandra Gutiérrez Vargas has been appointed as the new Vice Minister of Institutional Planning and Regional Coordination for the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) in Costa Rica, a position that remained vacant for ten months. Gutiérrez holds a master's degree in Educational Administration and has a diverse background in the education sector, including roles as a preschool and primary teacher, school director, circuit supervisor, and Regional Education Director of Heredia since 2014. She emphasizes a holistic approach to education, advocating for the emotional, social, and ethical development of children, and believes in nurturing each student's unique potential. This marks her as the second official to hold this position during the current administration.
