Aleksandar Šurbatović

Aleksandar Šurbatović, born in 1973 in Kosovska Mitrovica, is a prominent Serbian poet, prose writer, translator, and editor. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, specializing in general literature and literary theory. Šurbatović has authored several poetry collections and novels, and he has worked as a long-time editor at the publishing house 'Dereta,' where he edited over 350 books, primarily in translated literature. Currently, he serves as the chief editor of 'Bloom Publishing' in Serbia. His recent novel, 'The Turkish Chess Player,' has garnered significant attention across the region, being celebrated for its engaging narrative and depth of themes.
