Ales Bealeațki

Ales Bealeațki is a prominent Belarusian human rights activist and the founder of the Viasna Human Rights Centre, recognized globally for his efforts in advocating for democracy and human rights in Belarus. In 2022, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison on politically motivated charges, following a long history of activism against the authoritarian regime of Aleksandr Lukashenko. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022 for his dedication to the fight for freedom and justice.
