Alex Moroz

Alex Moroz is a Ukrainian mountaineer known for his remarkable ascent of Manaslu, the eighth highest peak in the world, where he became the first climber of the season to reach the summit without the use of supplemental oxygen. Growing up near Luhansk in eastern Ukraine and now residing in Kyrgyzstan, Moroz has a rich climbing background, including multiple summits of seven-thousanders and a notable first ascent in Tajikistan. His recent climb on Manaslu was significant not only for its challenging conditions but also for symbolizing cooperation between Russians and Ukrainians amidst ongoing conflict.
