Alexander II of Russia

Alexander II, known as the Tsar Liberator, ruled Russia from 1855 to 1881 and is remembered for his significant reforms, including the emancipation of the serfs. He was also involved in the sale of Russian America (Alaska) to the United States in 1867, seeking to divest from the costly and strategically vulnerable colonies in North America.
