Alexander Klaskovsky

Alexander Klaskovsky was a Belarusian political activist and former police officer born on September 26, 1978, to prominent journalists. He served in the police force but left under contentious circumstances, becoming a symbol of resistance during the 2010 protests in Belarus, where he was arrested and subsequently imprisoned for five years. After his release, he emigrated to the United States following the political unrest of 2020. Klaskovsky was remembered for his commitment to democracy and his efforts against the authoritarian regime in Belarus until his recent passing at the age of 46.
