Alexander Strukov

Alexander Strukov is a Russian political prisoner and activist known for his opposition to the government of Vladimir Putin. He gained notoriety for his vocal support of Ukraine and criticism of the Russian regime, famously shouting 'Glory to Ukraine! Death to Putin!' during a court hearing. Strukov previously collaborated with the Moscow headquarters of Alexei Navalny, a prominent opposition leader. In November 2023, he was sentenced to eight years in a penal colony for comments made on a Telegram channel, which included anti-government sentiments. His sentence was later reduced to seven years and ten months on appeal. Throughout his incarceration, Strukov faced severe pressure and harassment, being labeled as an extremist and subjected to harsh treatment despite his health issues.
