Alexandra Orčíková is the managing director of the waste management company VAS, which operates the only rendering plant in Mojšová Lúčka, Slovakia. Recently, she has been in the news due to the urgent measures taken to transport and process cattle that have been culled following an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in southern Slovakia. Orčíková assured the public that the facility is equipped to handle the increased workload and emphasized the strict veterinary and hygienic protocols in place to prevent the spread of the disease.
