Alexandru Georgescu

Alexandru Georgescu was a renowned Romanian actor, known for his powerful stage presence and distinctive voice. He graduated from the Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Art in 1972 and dedicated over fifty years of his life to the National Theatre of Bucharest. Throughout his illustrious career, he captivated audiences with performances in notable productions such as 'D'ale carnavalului,' 'The Name of the Rose,' and 'Tartuffe.' Georgescu was affectionately referred to as 'Nea Johny' by colleagues, celebrated for his warmth, modesty, and fine sense of humor. He passed away at the age of 76 on the Holy Saturday, a moment of transition between death and resurrection, leaving behind a legacy of artistic excellence and heartfelt memories.
