Alfred Terry
Alfred Terry (1827–1890) was a Union general during the American Civil War and later served in the Indian Wars. He is best known for his command during the Battle of the Little Bighorn, where he led U.S. forces in the aftermath of General Custer’s defeat. Terry's military career was marked by his leadership in various campaigns aimed at subduing Native American tribes, and his actions reflected the broader U.S. policy of westward expansion, which often resulted in violent conflicts with Indigenous peoples.
