Alfréd Wetzler was a Slovak Jewish escapee from the Auschwitz concentration camp who, along with his companion Rudolf Vrba, authored a pivotal report detailing the atrocities of the Holocaust. Their testimony, which reached Allied forces in 1944, was one of the first comprehensive accounts of the mass murders conducted by the Nazis.
